Sorry if this is a shit post, however is A day in the Life of a Tree anyone else’s favorite Beach boys song? i love the melancholy vibe of the melody and also lyrics contrasting through the uplifting harmonies the come in roughly the end of the song. It’s such a beautiful composition, among the best that Brian has ever come up with. I offered to be bothered by Rieley’s voice on the track and also wished the Brian or Carl had taken the lead, yet now I view the beauty, beauty in his raspy voice and how well it correlates come the in its entirety tone of the song. It virtually brings me to tears every time ns listen to it.

Those last pair of song on Surfs Up space (in mine opinion) the pinnacle of the era of The beach Boys.

I'm a sucker for melancholy songs, and Till i Die, Surfs Up, and A job in the Life of a Tree display screen so much emotion and beauty.

I execute agree! This 3 songs blows mine mind. I love them and I love the 'darkness' in this compositions.

I don't recognize if it's just me, yet it sounds prefer Brian's voice once he's older, favor in the late '70s and also later.

I'm happy Rieley sings command on this one. As weird together this sounds, he actually sounds choose an old tree creaking and also groaning in the wind. The only Beach young that i think could've recorded that feeling was Dennis.

That just made me wonder, space there any takes with any kind of of the BB's singing the lead? I'd love come hear the guys take a crack at it...I may, for part crazy reason, like it over Rieley...

It’s a good album however I great Al or Bruce had done the command instead. Or probably Dennis. I hope they every took a cracked at it and also when they relax the Surf’s increase Sessions, we gain all the different versions.

One of mine favourites, just the method it swells in the direction of the finish with all the vocals comes in, and also the organ blaring. Really atmospheric.

I love everything around it!

I love best at the start Reiley's voice cracks! ns love the ending of the tune also! Al and also Van Dyke sound an excellent on the ending too! That finishing is beautiful

I wasn't a pan the first few times ns heard it, yet it's since done a finish 180 and also me and also is absolutely in the running for my favourite monitor on Surf's Up some days. The song's horrible simple, through an odd concept, yet they execute it for this reason well. "Oh Lord i lay me under /No life's left to be discovered / There's nothing left because that me" always gets me, and also I agree, the harmonies in the last component of the track are out of this world. So happy this tune exists.
