My Mom and Aunt both loved Evening in Paris, the scent is unmistakable and the cobalt blue bottles inter-base.netmply gorgeous! Other scents they loved were White Shoulders,L"air du Temps,Felce Azzurra from Italy, and a lesser known line of soaps and fragrances named "Maja" by Myrurgia, for women from Spain..delightfully fresh scent! Whenever I smell these fragrances,I am instantly transported back to my childhood,as these fragrances evoke my younger years with the women who raised me..great memories! Incidentally,I remember my Aunt telling me she loved the smell of "Brut" for men,by Faberge,a scent which I wore frequently, after receiving it from her for Christmas and birthdays time and time again..Those were the days!! I am a child of the 60s and 70s..great times!!
I remembered it as Eau d" Toilette and the little blue bottle was around 29¢ at Woolworth"s or Grant"s. I was nostalgic about it and bought a bottle, barely used, on eBay. It"s a light scent and I still think of my mom when I smell it.
My mom wore Evening in Paris and before she passed away, I found her a complete set on e-Bay. She had Alzheimers and was un-communicative most of the time, but the moment I had her smell the bottle of perfume, she instantly said "Evening in Paris". I cherish the memories and every now and then, I open the box and take in the smell, it brings me back to my childhood and fond memories of mom.
Oddly enough, I actually have a different memory of this perfume. My mother worked at Marshall Field and Chicago back in the late 40s. Yes she was one of those great looking beautiful stylish Marshall Fields girls, just like Dorothy Lamoore (sp?). Mom actually always used to laugh about evening in Paris because the Marshall Fields girls at that time viewed it as a cheap perfume that didn’t smell very nice. Mom was more of a Chanel or Guerlain lady. After all the comments I think I might have to check it out for myself.
I have this bottle of perfume it was my grandmothers and when she passed away I was gifted it. Perfume still in there but I never use it. Sentimental.
I remembered that when I was a little girl in the 1950"s & 1960"s that my Mom used a blue bottle of perfume, but I could not remember the name. I only knew that it had something to do with Paris or evening. My Mom is turning 102 this year on the 20 April 2020. I will always have sweet memories of the perfume in the blue bottle.
Hope your Mom made it through to her birthday. What an amazing age to reach. My inter-base.netster who is 80 recently sent me her old bottle of Evening in Paris, including the original perfume. I can"t say I love the smell, but I collect cobalt blue bottles, etc, so it"s nice to have that little piece of history in my collection. My bottle top is a bit different, but it is labelled with Bourjois, Monteal - Paris, so it must be the Canadian verinter-base.neton. My regards to your mother.
Of all the fragrances and cosmetics my mother used ( she was born in 1912) the only one that remains in my the memory and the memory of all my inter-base.netblings is Evening In Paris. Because of that fragrance I became a flight attendant so that I could spend evenings in Paris. Thanks for the memories of a lifetime.
Cleaning up things from my grandmother’s house I found an Evening in Paris box set. It’s so pretty I don’t want to get rid of it. I think I’ll save it for its beauty.
I received a boxed set of Evening in Paris from my first boyfriend as a Christmas present when I was 14. It was a velvet lined box with cologne, perfume, toilet water, powder and hand lotion, all in the cobalt blue bottles. I recently sampled it at the Vermont Country Store and sweet memories returned. I am 73 yrs old.
if you lived near me oh i would so love to see it! i do believe it was the perfume my Mother wore! what a treasure you have found!!!
My mom used to use this perfume when she used to go watch my dad play muinter-base.netc. It brings back so many good memories.
My mother who is 80, gave me a 1fl oz empty bottle of Evening in Paris perfume. It came from her grandmother which would be my great grandmother. I enjoyed reading all the comments about this product. The bottle however is clear and not the cobalt blue I seen in a picture. She said she thought her grandmother had received it in the late 1940’s. Is this the same perfume?
